Baked Apple Dessert – A Warm & Delicious Treat

A quick and easy treat to make your kids when they are whining “I’m hungry!”  Made with apples which are a good source of vitamins A and C.



  • 1 large apple
  • 1 T. raisins or dried cranberries
  • 1 T brown sugar
  • 2 t. butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granola


  1. cut apple in half lengthwise
  2. with spoon, remove apple core
  3. place each half in a small microwaveable bowl
  4. fill the indent of each apple with raisins and brown sugar, then dot with the butter
  5. cover each with microwaveable plastic wrap, leaving a small opening for venting
  6. microwave each apple half on high for 2 to 3 minutes
  7. top with granola
  8. OPTIONAL:  serve with a little milk, cream or yogurt

Perfect for the cold winter months.
