A quick and easy treat to make your kids when they are whining “I’m hungry!” Made with apples which are a good source of vitamins A and C.
BAKED APPLE DESSERT
Ingredients:

1 large apple

1 T. raisins or dried cranberries

1 T brown sugar

2 t. butter, softened

1/2 cup granola
Directions:

cut apple in half lengthwise
-
with spoon, remove apple core
-
place each half in a small microwaveable bowl

fill the indent of each apple with raisins and brown sugar, then dot with the butter
-
cover each with microwaveable plastic wrap, leaving a small opening for venting
-
microwave each apple half on high for 2 to 3 minutes
-
top with granola
-
OPTIONAL: serve with a little milk, cream or yogurt
Perfect for the cold winter months.
