Dolls

Posted by The Folks at Cow & Lizard! on Sep 3rd 2015

Dolls have been around forever.  They can be very simple such as a rag doll or very elaborate with hand painted faces.  Some are meant to play with and others are meant to go on display.  The Pleasant Company was started in a neighboring town and we watched it go from a start up to a huge company that was eventually bought out by Mattel.  She came up with a niche and did quite well with it.

We carry many different types of dolls.  There are the dollhouse dolls by Plan Toys, soft dolls by NA Bear and Waldorf dolls by Kathe Kruse.  All are wonderful - every little girl should have at least one doll.

Children can learn about the world, social behaviors, emotional learning, conversation and language skills by playing with dolls.  Children can find a real friend in a doll who gives them trust and security.  They can share joy with them as well as anything that is bothering them.  A true friend and companion.

Dolls should be age appropriate for children.  Babies and toddlers need a soft and cuddly doll.  Pre-schoolers prefer dolls that look like them - such as blonde hair, etc.  They like to nurture the doll by grooming and dressing the doll.  Elementary School children become more interested in fashion and adventure with their dolls.
