Learning to Distinguish Sounds

An important skill for preschoolers and toddlers is learning to distinguish between sounds. The most common is to start with animal sounds, but there are a whole lot of other sounds that may be of interest to your child - vehicles, items around the house, etc. This skill helps with language and when the sounds are associated with letters or words. Parents can easily turn this into a game.
