It is said that ropemakers in Ancient China and Egypt would drag their ropes along the streets while working and children would jump in and out as a way to play and test their skills. Today, jumping rope is a favorite playground and neighborhood activity. You can skip rope by yourself, or with others. It is good exercise and a lot of fun!
JUMPING WITH 3 OR MORE
The jumper can invite another jumper in by singing the rhymes below. When the jump is over, the original jumper jumps our and the next person in line gets invited in by the remaining jumper.
I like coffee, I like tea,
I like (name) to jump with me.

JUMPING DOUBLE DUTCH
You will need 3 or more and 2 long ropes to jump Double Dutch. The people holding the ropes are turned in opposite directions as one or more jumpers jump together at the same time.
