Toaster Strudel Sundae – A Dessert for Your Sweet Tooth

This quick and easy treat is better than hot apple pie!  It is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.  Serve as a dessert or treat – anytime is a good time for this delicious Toaster Strudel Sundae.

 

Toaster Strudel Sundae Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 frozen brown sugar cinnamon toaster strudel pastries
  • 1 cup apple pie filling
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream

Directions:

  1. toast the pastries per directions on box
  2. put apple pie filling in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 1 minute or until it is hot
  3. put the toasted pastries on plates
  4. put a scoop of the hot apple pie filling on top
  5. put a scoop of ice cream on top
  6. drizzle with icing packet from the toaster strudel box

Better eat it quick before the ice cream melts!

Baked Apple Dessert – A Warm & Delicious Treat

A quick and easy treat to make your kids when they are whining “I’m hungry!”  Made with apples which are a good source of vitamins A and C.

BAKED APPLE DESSERT

Ingredients:

  • 1 large apple
  • 1 T. raisins or dried cranberries
  • 1 T brown sugar
  • 2 t. butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granola

Directions:

  1. cut apple in half lengthwise
  2. with spoon, remove apple core
  3. place each half in a small microwaveable bowl
  4. fill the indent of each apple with raisins and brown sugar, then dot with the butter
  5. cover each with microwaveable plastic wrap, leaving a small opening for venting
  6. microwave each apple half on high for 2 to 3 minutes
  7. top with granola
  8. OPTIONAL:  serve with a little milk, cream or yogurt

Perfect for the cold winter months.

Krispy Sundae Recipe – Fun Kids Dessert

My son and I made these delicious Krispy Sundae desserts and they were not only fun to make but yummy to eat.  It is always fun to get your kids involved in learning how to cook – boys and girls both – as it saddens me when you hear people say that they don’t know how to cook.  There was a kids cooking school in town when my older son was younger and we went thru some of their cooking classes.  He had cooked and baked many things with me throughout the years, but he wanted to graduate on to more elaborate recipes that I normally don’t make such as crepes and scones.  He now is very comfortable in a kitchen and I’m sure he will be making home-cooked meals when he gets out on his own.

These Krispy Sundaes were easy to make – the shell is basically a rice krispie bar shaped into a bowl that holds the sundae.  The recipe follows – enjoy!

KRISPY SUNDAE

Ingredients:

  • 3 Tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 10 oz package of marshmallows
  • 6 cups of rice krispies cereal
  • ice cream
  • whipped topping
  • hot fudge topping
  • sprinkles (optional)

 

Directions:

  • - in a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat
  • - add marshmallows and stir until melted
  • - remove from heat
  • - add rice krispies cereal
  • - stir until coated
  • - coat muffin tin or small bowls with cooking spray
  • - put enough mixture in so that you can shape an individual cup by pressing up against the sides
  • - let cool
  • - fill with ice cream
  • - top with hot fudge
  • - top with whipped topping
  • - decorate with sprinkles
