Hape Little Pounder

A toy developed with a child's developmental needs in mind and is naturally fun!  Hape's Little Pounder is great for little explorers as they go tap tap tap as they hammer the pegs through the holes.  Then all they have to do is flip the toy over and pound them through again.  Made of wood and water based paint, it is a sturdy and safe toy for your child 1 year and older.  The pegs and legs are painted with different colors - red, blue, yellow and green.  The hammer is the perfect size for little hands.

The developmental benefits from this wooden toy are:  hand to eye coordination, fine motor skills and problem solving.

  • Coordination - show your baby how to pound the pegs through the holes.  You can count each time he/she pounds and makes contact with the peg.
  • Make Music - your toddler can pretend that the hammer is an instrument and sing out "tap, tap, tap" or "pound, pound, pound" each time the hammer hits the peg.  You can also make up your own song, tune or rhythm.
  • Solve Problems - you can help your child discover the difference in power between the right, left and then both hands.

A great little toy that will beings lots of fun for your little one.  Check it out at
