Blueberries - the Super Fruit!
Posted by The Folks at Cow & Lizard! on Aug 12th 2015
Blueberries just happen to be my favorite color - blue! These little berries are just so beautiful - such a deep rich blue color - they are so pleasing to look at. I grew up in Maine where we would go wild blueberry picking. These are smaller than the ones you can buy in your grocery store but are packed with so much more sweetness. The flavor of these little berries make them much better baking berries - you will notice the difference in taste. Yum!
Did you ever read the children's book "Blueberries for Sal"? I loved this book. The illustrations were simple but such a sweet story. Sal and her mother were picking blueberries and encountered a mother bear and her cub doing the exact same thing. Get the book from the library and read it to your child if you get the chance - I know you will love it.
