Camping with Kids

Camping with your kids is a whole lot of fun!  It seems like alot of work and the thought of roughing it may not appeal to all, but getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life can be very refreshing.  As a kid, we once took a family vacation in a rented RV.  We drove from California up to Lake Shasta.  Each campground we stopped at was a new place to explore.  We met and made lots of new friends.  My most vivid memory was sitting around a campfire in our pajamas, making smores.  I still remember those pajamas I wore - a two piece set made of blue and white checked gingham.  When we were a bit older and lived in Maine, we used to pitch our tents by the river in a cow pasture.  Our dog scared me to death one night when I went out to go the bathroom.  It was dark and as I was walking back, all I could see were a pair of glowing eyes.  I high tailed it back to the tent and soon discovered it was our family dog that had followed me outside.  Needless to say, it got a good laugh.
