Memory and Memorization - Toddlers and Preschoolers

Posted by the folks at Cow & Lizard on Feb 16th 2016

As adults get older, we all think we start to lose our memories.  How often do you catch yourself saying "I'm losing my memory"?  It is just the opposite for toddlers and preschoolers - they are gaining their memory.  Children of this age are starting to be able to memorize details and facts which is an early sign of learning readiness.

There are lots of fun memory games that you can play with your child at this age.

Here is a wonderful wooden game from PlanToys - Fruit & Veggie Memo.  Kids can learn their fruits and vegetable as well as having fun playing the memory game.

Another great one from PlanToys is the Animal Memo..  The wooden tiles have pictures of animals and they all fit neatly in a drawstring tote - great for storage.
