Arts & Crafts - Creativity in Bloom

Posted by the folks at Cow & Lizard on Mar 21st 2016

Arts & Crafts are great for the development of toddlers and preschoolers.  The ability to concentrate on the task at hand and to complete multiple step processes helps to develop creativity.  Preschool age children have an attention span that now can last long enough to complete a project and they are also mastering fine motor skills that are needed.

What is involved with arts & crafts projects?

Cutting - using scissors to cut along basic line patterns.

Gluing - glue sticks minimize the mess, but kids can also use white glue from a bottle and learn how to keep the mess contained.

Coloring - crayons, markers and color pencils are all fabulous for your kids projects.

Assembling - kids should be able to assemble simple projects with very little help from adults.

Whether you use a pre-packaged arts & craft kit, find a project online, in a magazine, or create your own, your kids will have an afternoon of fun and parents will have a beautiful masterpiece to display.
